We found some secondhand oak floor planks that looked very decent, but the previous owner decided to cover them with a dark, chemical coating. We decided to restore their natural color by sanding them. This was an intense job but also very satisfying to restore the planks to their original state. We made sure to hook up a powerful vacuum cleaner to the sanding machine to suck up all the chemical particles.

Next we layed out 3mm wood fiber sheets onto our ESB floor. They are used to make sure the wooden planks are evenly distributed on the floor underneath it. Next we started puzzling the wooden floor planks in the space. For this we made sure to leave some space between the floor and the planks so they have room to expand and shrink during seasons.
