We bought a detachable deck from Vlemmix Trailers that measures 2m90 x 6m. The deck comes as loose pieces of steel that you have to combine with bolts. We also bought four of their red support legs that can each carry 3000 kg. They have a crank system to adjust the height. This way you can easily level your construction. We placed four big stones in the soil as extra support for these legs. We did however notice that the whole structure moves a bit while you are walking in the house. We are therefore thinking about lowering our entire house onto big stones to reduce this movement. We will monitor how this steel deck holds up in the coming years but for initially it looks very strong.

Vlemmix also sells a trailer that you can combine with this deck. This way you could lift up your house with the cranks and then roll the trailer underneath it. You can find more info about this system here. If we ever need to move our house we will probably not buy one of these trailers, but instead find a low loader company that can lift up the house and move it. This way we don’t have to worry about permits (the house is 3 m wide, for which you need special approval, something low loader companies usually have). More information about these belgian road laws can be found below.
