We kicked of our first Nomad City Gathering with a lecture by Jolien Jochems. She shared the story of the artist-run space Maison Florida and the importance for these kinds of breeding spaces within our cities. Afterwards Anne-Marie Lehouck gave us a workshop on wild plants in which we learned that there is no such thing as ‘weeds’. Plants we’re also foraged to cook a delicious wild pasta, which we ate in front of the glass containers across the street. Jonathan Frederickx and Stef Lemmens invited us to this space where they researched it’s potential to be a community hot spot. We ended our evening with a second edition of Finding a Home in a World of Houses. Mirte Menève made us think about the impact nature has on our feeling of home. For this edition we invited Yannick Douw to share his thoughts on this.
